We have two opportunities for individuals or groups interested in creating a positive impact in the Coos area! Our Tax Volunteer and Rebuilding Together opportunities are perfect for those looking to help our community in dynamic ways. For more information on these opportunities, read the descriptions below!
Are you interested in learning how to prepare basic tax returns? Do you have some time to volunteer during the upcoming tax season to help those in your community? Serve your community as a volunteer tax preparer!
Currently, NeighborWorks Umpqua is recruiting volunteers to prepare tax returns for low-to-moderate means families in Roseburg through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). No Professional Experience Required! All volunteers receive FREE and flexible training to become IRS certified, with support provided before, during, and after tax season!
Our Roseburg site is open for appointments at 9 am-1 pm M-F. Our Coastal site is open 9-1 Tue-Sat for appointments and we are open 9-5 on those days for self-prepared taxes. If you have been looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community – look no further! Call our Volunteer Coordinator, Becky McKenney, at 541-249-5328 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up to volunteer as a tax preparer.
NeighborWorks Umpqua is currently looking to fill volunteers in our new build and our Rebuilding Together projects. Skills are helpful but no experience is necessary!!
Rebuilding Together helps people with limited means to be able to stay in their homes safely and securely. No experience required. Our Construction Supervisor or experienced leads will show you how and be available to answer any questions.
New volunteers go through a short orientation on the job site that includes basic tools usage and site safety training. Ongoing training and supervision is provided. For more information or to sign up, email email@example.com or call 541-249-5328 to talk with our Volunteer Coordinator, Becky.
