The Oregon Trawl Commission, Midwater Trawlers Cooperative, and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will be facilitating multiple coastal offshore wind energy input opportunities, including the one in Coos Bay on June 16th. On April 29, 2022, BOEM published a Call for Information and Nominations (Call) to assess commercial interest in, and obtain public input on, potential wind energy leasing activities in federal waters off the southern and central Oregon coast. The purpose of the meeting on June 16 is for BOEM to inform the fishing community about the Call and to provide an opportunity for a formal public comment on the Call.

BOEM will provide information on the current planning stage to inform offshore wind energy leasing along the Oregon coast, including the Oregon Call for Information and Nominations and an overview of existing data. The first two hours of the meeting will include a presentation with discussion and the opportunity to ask questions of BOEM representatives. A formal verbal public comment opportunity is offered during the last two hours of the meeting. Comments submitted during that agenda item will be posted to the Federal eRulemaking Portal as received. Written comments can also be submitted to BOEM directly by the June 28, 2022 deadline.
